AfroFlux at High Vis Fest & BLACKkKLANSMAN film showing at The Mockingbird

September 8, 2018 @ 9:00 pm - 11:30 pm

£5

As a part of the High Vis Street Culture Festival, AfroFlux is proud to present Spike Lee’s new joint BLACKkKLANSMAN – the raucous true story of a Black policeman’s investigation and infiltration into the Ku Klux Klan.

With a focus on all things coming from the ground up, a Spike Lee directed film sits perfectly in this brand new festivals crown.

As the name High Vis suggests it’s a day that’s going to be filled with arts and crafts.  With Graffiti and Street Art to comic and zine creators, the emphasis is heavy on lines, strokes and colours.

For those not so moved by brushes and aerosol cans there’ll be live music, freestyle ciphers and dance competitions for the whole family. Topped off with skateboarding and a variety of workshops there’s more than enough to make the first edition of High Vis be a perfect day to remember.

Not forgetting the streetwear, art and food traders who’ll be adding to all the vibrancy with take away specials.

High Vis is being put on by a group of Birmingham creators who see a space to fill as far as letting Birmingham and the world know just how much talent there is out there coming from a true street level. The festival is a free event with the film screening coming in at the price of £5.
