Damali Young is a multi-instrumentalist, beat maker, visual artist, painter and all round creator living in Sweden. Originally from Brooklyn NY, Damali grew up amidst the Reggae, Hip Hop and Punk scenes, making a name for himself next to then upcoming neighbourhood friends such as Yasiin Bey (Mos Def).
In this hour long conversation we’ll be catching up with Damali to see what life is like on his side of the Afroflux.

Artbreaker Art display and talk in Atrium

Hanifa Queen is the UK’s first B-Girl.  As a breaker she’s seen all the different waves of Hip Hop come and go while maintaining a finger on the pulse.  Through the years Hanifa’s activism has guided her to reinvent her Breakin into art where her trainers become paintbrushes.

Hanifa will be on hand to give an Art Talk about her travels, the recent Social Death paintings and their relation to Hip Hop’s role in social activism.  Hanifa’s work will be on display.

Lets not forget the brilliant artists creating a live piece on Hurst St, opposite Snobs nightclub on Sat the 18th.

This will be a collaboration between T-Bone, Sneak Pekoe, Juice 126 & Bunny Bread.  All returning to the Afroflux wall to create a work entitled The Black Gold of The Sun!
